Certifications and Approvals
Bull Importer manages the obtaining of a wide variety of certifications and approvals, without which products cannot be marketed.
Each type of product is subject to specific technical, safety, and quality requirements set by various geographical bodies (global, EU, Spanish). Knowledge of the applicable standards and regulations in each region is essential for the success of any importation or production outsourcing process.
We manage, among others, the following official certificates and approval seals:
CE (Conformité Européenne): CE is a mark added to the labeling to declare that the product meets the minimum safety requirements set by EU regulations. It is an approval seal necessary for importing an extensive list of products, including toys, safety footwear, machinery, refrigerators, elevators, or medical products, into any country of the European Economic Area. There is no certification agency; instead, it is the responsibility of the importer to ensure that the product complies with the relevant European directive. Wikipedia entry on the CE mark
Ecocert: Ecocert certificates certify that a product has been entirely made with ecological ingredients and processes. They are used in the agricultural, textile, detergent, and natural and ecological cosmetics sectors. They are issued by the Ecocert Group, headquartered in France, with subsidiary offices in other countries. The Ecocert Group also conducts certifications on environmental responsibility.
EN 60204, Machine Safety – Electrical Equipment of Machines: A series of standards that regulate the safety of electronic components of industrial machinery. Bull Importer utilizes this set of standards (some of which are not yet translated into Spanish) to prepare the test report and thus homologate machines such as industrial juicers. Standards of the EN 60204 series can be found in the catalog of AENOR.
EN ISO 12312-1:2013, Eye and Face Protection – Sunglasses and Related Eyewear – Part 1: Sunglasses for General Use (ISO 12312-1:2013) (Ratified by AENOR in August 2015) and its supplement EN ISO 12312-1:2013/A1:2015, Eye and Face Protection – Sunglasses and Related Articles – Part 1: Sunglasses for General Use (ISO 12312-1:2013/Amd 1:2015) (Ratified by AENOR in November 2015): We conduct the test report and certify sunglasses according to this international standard.
LACON certificates, like Ecocert, are used to certify organic production. They are applicable only to the agricultural sector, apiculture, fish farms, and the food industry. They are issued by the Lacon Institute, headquartered in Austria.
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances): RoHS is a European certification mark for electronic products that contain hazardous substances (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB, and PBDE) in any of their components. By using this mark, the manufacturer declares that the product complies with Directive 2002/95/EC, and therefore the amount of these substances in the device does not exceed the maximum allowed. The importer is responsible for ensuring compliance with this requirement before national and European authorities.
