These evolve in line with the changes that occur each season and are seen on the runways. In fact, sunglasses have become one of the most important fashion accessories, combined with clothing styles and colors.
What the Imported Sunglasses We’ll Wear This Year Look Like
After a period dominated by mirror-effect lenses in all imaginable colors, the fashion in sunglasses has evolved towards bolder designs and more imaginative proposals. Major brands are opting to combine materials and vibrant, eye-catching colors.
The aesthetics of mirror glasses are not disappearing but are evolving towards more sophisticated proposals with gradient lenses. What Requirements Imported Sunglasses Must Meet
Many imported sunglasses do not meet the necessary requirements established by European regulations. For sunglasses to have the minimum required quality, they must meet the following conditions:
- Have the CE marking indelibly on the temple, as well as the identification of the manufacturer or distributor in the European Union and the model reference.
- The frame must be free of edges and roughness and must have a structure resistant to adverse conditions and flammability.
- The lenses must be free of scratches, streaks, bubbles, cracks, irregularities, or deformations. In addition, they must be resistant to breakage, impacts, and heat.
- They cannot have prescription or prismatic effects.
- They must reduce the intensity of visible light with a solar filter whose value (from 1 to 4) must be marked indelibly.
- They must filter or eliminate harmful UV radiation below 400nm. Although it is not mandatory to engrave it, it is advisable to ensure that the manufacturer meets this requirement.
Sunglasses must be accompanied by an instruction leaflet for the user in the language of the destination country. The instructions must include:
- Name and address of the manufacturer or distributor in the EU
- Reference to the European standard to which it conforms
- Usage characteristics
- Warning of risks and usage restrictions
- Explanation and marking regarding the degree of protection against light and UV radiation
- Cleaning and maintenance standards
